Sügisjooks is done! I survived without a real training. :) And my knee hold on nicely. I had nice nr - 1717 - and I finished 7 places before Estonian president's wife. :D My time is not so good though - 10km in 55.34. This is time from start's bang. Time from crossing the start line is 53.50. Now I'm gonna explain (and whine) the reasons.
My problems:
-I was too late to get to my own starting coridor and that left couple of thousands people in front of me
-in the middle of race one of my shoelaces needed new tie
-lack of training made the second half quite hard
Competition problems:
-first of all, the whole race is now more like fighting than running. Most of the time runners have to find/fight for a place where to run. The first 3km were the worst - I was forced to walk couple of times. Next year there have to be rule that different groups start after a minute or so.
-or even better - find a better place for such crowd. Rocca al Mare were nice where we had parking and washing possibilities but now this place would be small too.
-people don't stay in their coridors.
I've had something else to do too. I tried waterball in Nõmme seikluspark. Basically you step in one big ball, air is pumped inside and you are off - do whatever u want/can on the water. It's fun and I recommend to try it but don't expect anything groundbreaking.
Then - I had another hike with Kersti and Kärolin which went a bit longer than planned. Girls got excited about mushrooms and that lowered our speed at first. When they decided to hurry up they picked up such a speed we passed the right turning point. I saw the bridge and jumped on it but paid no attention to road marks and soon run after our leaders. After at least km away they were finally convinced it's not right place to be and we went back to the small bridge what girls didn't noticed at first place as they had so many "interesting" girl's stuff do decide. And as I had nothing to comment to their gossip about their friends and other girl's talk then they decided that I'm not in good mood and teased me because of unrelated things what happened few hours before. :) Anyway, we were lucky we took lamps as otherwise it would have been impossible to walk in the dark forrest. But the nature was nice and varied - we saw swamp and lakes, fields and small hills, sandy, muddy and lush terrains... It was nice. :)
Few days ago I also went in Helsinki, Finland. I met a very good friend and we had fantastic time, as always. The best experience from adventure point of view was visiting Suomenlinna. It's a island fortress made to protect Helsinki. There are a lot of tunnels and buildings and things, places to look so I'm pleased I went there at last. The whole day was fun but time, as always with good company, passes quickly. At least I got a unforgettably good cake :)
For next - Otepää öörännak in this weekend. It's orienteering at night. We got a big team - 8 members I guess. And there were more people interested but they droped out in various reasons. I guess I should start preparations. :)
