2 weeks

I haven't published a blog post over 2 weeks now. But I was pretty sick meanwhile. There were couple of days where I laid in bed most of the time and I skipped all lessons which needed activity. It took time to recover but for now I'm ok.

I couldn't skip Outdoor lessons though. Last week we had Stratego and some fieldgames but the real fun came with rappeling. We were in the same place as last semester's start. This time we used different security so the process was faster. Also, beside 9m wall we also had opportunity to go a bit higher, to about 12m. I had time to took 3 9m slides and 1 12m.
We had nice plans for this week Outdoor. We had to go camping for overnight. But teacher fell ill. Still, seven brave students decided to took the trip anyway, without teacher. Teacher agreed, gave us some instructions and off we went with out big bags. It was fun. We made fire, cooked and slept in wooden shelter. It protected us from cold ground, wind and rain but the temperature was the same as outside as it had no door. I had plan to make the similar camp in Estonia while I was there but lazyness conquered me. I'm glad I was able to do it now.

Considering sport we have played some volley- and basketball, made different physical exercises, also in fitness room, swam, went in sauna... Ok, the last one isn't exactly a sport. But overall - we have moved and sweat.

It's hard to write today so I finish here. We will have some new students today so I will go and get ready.

Danish river in Feb

My health wasn't any better in yesterday. I was in bed most of the time and I skipped Powersports and Mind & Body. I still dragged myself to Outdoor class as we went shooting.

I haven't shoot from sport rifle (or any other firearm for that matter) over 10 years so it was fun. Overall scores of our 20 people group were very close to each other but... I was the best in class. :P I scored 184 points with 25 shots. At the end I had a little conversation with shooting club guys. One of them showed his score from the same day, which was 5 points higher, and asked me to come back some day. I said that I even might, and then I will also bring my glasses. :D Their surprise reaction was funny. :P

My ankle was about 80% ok in yesterday, but today it's almost completely fine. That's good. Also the cold is leaving slowly, not so much coughing and blowing the nose anymore. But the health in tomorrow is open issue because of our today's Outdoor surprise.

Well, the task wasn't so hard. All we had to do is jump to river, with clothes. Sure, this is not Estonia's winter but still, it's February, there is snow, there are minus degrees outside and the water was about 0 degrees.
I was the 3rd jumper from my group. The water was cold but not as bad as I thought it would be. It was refreshing for sure. The biggest surprise was the breathing although we were warned about that before. It's hard to make big breath and talk in cold water.
The clothes changing was also outside, human wall blocking the wind. My dressing was quite fast although if there would have been a bit more prep time I would have been able to optimize the process more. The overall experience was awesome and I would like to try this again. Tarmo, if you are reading this - our old "late autumn swim in Viitna lake" plan have to take part!

I ran home, sat on our cold sauna for a while and that may be the end of this week's big actions. Will see.

Sick as a dog

Damn! Yesterday my ankle went a lot worse. By dinner time I almost wasn't able to walk, it hurted like hell. I was really disapointed and surprised how come such thing happens with me twice. Some nice hungarians gave me some bandages and I kept those on all night.
Luckily at morning my leg was a lot better and now I can almost walk normaly. It still hurts in some positions but it should be ok soon.
My cold is worse though. I cough and sneeze all the time. All those things makes me quite sick and therefore I skiped today's swimming and running. Will see how things goes.

Basketball, finally

Some gymnastic things, volleyball and basketball are filled last day's sport lessons. Fun is a bit smaller because I got some head cold and it's a bit painful to breath hardly. Also, I fell today while playing basketball. On my ankle, this time on the left. Different thoughts run through my head but as I was able to move my foot I was lucky. After few minutes of limping it was ok. And it was ok until half an hour ago when it started to hurt a bit. Maybe I stretched it a bit too much later. I'm sure it will be ok soon.

Weekend was peaceful. Had some fun in swimmingpool etc. Speaking of pool - I was able to get a lucky win over Alex in our first and so far only billiard game. But at the same time I have lost couple of not so strong games. My unsteady performance makes me uneasy.

Indoor's Outdoor

Today is big relaxing day. As my body still hurts because of Thursday, it's good thing to have.

Yesterday's Outdoor was a bit unusual, really a surprise as teacher warned. We went to downhill skiing. I'm not fond of skiing but alpine skiing has been one of things I've wanted to try. I had a bit fun in kid's hill and learned some basics but I can't say I love this sport so much. Considering the skiing center - it's a joke. Supposed to be one of the biggest in Denmark, it had only one smallish hill for adults.
Following skiing we visited waterpark. It wasn't so big either but swimmingpool, jacuzzi, sauna and sliding tunnel were present. It was fun.
Nothing else to report only that I won the first and so far only game pool with Sebastian. He is very good and most probably he hold himself back, but my lucky win still felt good. :P

Outdoor rocks

Yesterday's morning's swimming lesson was good. Learned new stuff, eg one have to make movments in the water do not drown. Other activities weren't so interesting. But today has been crazy day. I've had 3 showers which means it has been quite sweaty day.

In Powersports we played floorball and modified foot- and handball. Right after that was Mind & Body. That was hard - switching between seven freeweight exercises, running for resting. Although challengeing, it was cool.

The best was Outdoor lesson. We got some basic map reading theory and after that went to forrest for 2 hours to practice. After some points we devided into small teams to find points individually. I teamed up with chillipaprikan guy. And I'm glad to report that we worked well together. As a scout back home he also knew already how to orient so whenever I got some doubts we cleared it up together quickly. He was also willing to move mostly by running so our tempo was better than others. We were only team who "took" all 4 points by reporting numbers (which were 7, 52, 70, 106 if I remember correctly) and we were also one of first to reach back to school. So I'm happy. :)

I was kinda surprised that I was able to run after first to exhausting lessons, but after Outdoor I was finaly relatively empty. Still, one more thing needed to be done - the visit to police station. No worries, just some administrative things. :)

After such day I feel about as tired as after 10km Sügisjooks run. Tonight's sleep will be sweet.

Tests

Today's sport class was cool. We made different tests, including beep-test, learned different stuff about body and measurements etc. Not less interesting was climbing on climbing wall. At evening teacher walked around and told that he goes to climb and if I want to I can go. I invited some friends, some guys just came and saw and at the end there were quite a few climbers. It was fun. :)
After that we shoot a basketball a bit. Also fun. But now I'm preparing to go to sleep as I have to wake up at 7 to swim.

Ordinary monday

Monday, with first sport lessons. Some introduction and games in inside and outside. Nothing groundbraeking really. Still, my legs from knees to toes are full of a bit painfull black-and-blues.

We got offering to go ski to Norway. As I'm not so fond of skiing I guess I will pass.

I also visited one creative lesson which again proved me how talented many of students are. Amazing!

Sleepy sunday

Lazy resting day is ending. We made again a little walk with little group, witch included a little snowfight (fresh snow fell at night) and sledging. A short basketball session, few pool games and sauna were today's highpoints.
